Sikhs in Hockey in Zambia
Following Zambia's indepence in October 1964, many Asians from the neighbouring East African countries went to settle in Zambia. Sikhs started playing hockey in Lusaka and Copperbelt and this followed with the formation of Sikh Union Club in Lusaka.
Zambia started playing in the Annual East and Central African Championship in 1968 and this is the time Sikhs started representing the country in international tournaments.
