Brajinder Daved was born on 25 January 1953 in Nairobi, Kenya. He studied at City Primary School and Technical High School Nairobi in Kenya.

He captained his School hockey team. He was the captain of Kenya Combined Schools against the visiting Indian Olympic team in 1968.

He played for Railway Gymkhana in Kenya.

He was selected to represent the Kenyan National Hockey Team at the age of 16 years when he toured Pakistan with Kenya team in 1969.

He earned his first international cap on 9 March 1969 when he played against East Germany during the 8 Nations Tournament in Lahore, Pakistan. He was aged 16 years, 1 month and 15 days at that time and is the youngest player to represent Kenya at international senior hockey.

He played in East African Championship in Zambia in 1971.

He represented Kenya at the first Hockey World Cup in Barcelona, Spain in 1971 where Kenya finished 4th.

He represented Kenya at Munich 1972 Olympic Games

He also represented Kenya in the second World Cup in Amsterveen, Netherlands in 1973.

He went to the UK in 1974 to complete his further education and studied at Luton College of Higher Education. .

He played for Bedfordshire Eagles and Slough Hockey Club with whom he won the UK National Indoor and Outdoor Championships including The European Cup Winners Cup.

He also played for Middlesex County.

He was selected for Kenya for the 1976 Montreal Games which Kenya pulled out at the last minute whilst the team were in the Olympic Village in Montreal.

Kenya also boycotted the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games which meant he missed another Olympic Games.

He played in the 1974 Africa Cup of Nations and was captain at the 1983 Africa Cup of Nations. 

He was Kenya's captain at the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games.

He played for Kenya until 1987.
