Paramjit Singh Bahia was born in Kukar, Punjab, India. He was educated at Khalsa College Jalandhar and emigrated to Canada in the late 1960s. He joined India Field Hockey Club in Vancouver.
He represented Canada at the intercontinental Cup in Italy in 1977 and the following year was selected to represent Canada at the Buenos Aires 1978 World Cup.
He was a member of the Canadian team that won the Silver medal at the Pan Am Games in Puerto Rico in 1979.
He played at the 1st Esanda Tournament in Perth, Australia in April 1979 and the Intercontinental Cup in Malaysia in 1981.
Paramjit was a key member of BC Field Hockey (the predecessor to Field Hockey BC) Board of Directors (coaching) and as a provincial coach.
He passed away in British Columbia, Canada, on 2nd February 2012.
