Dato Dr Surinder Singh Cheema was on the International Hockey Federation Medical Commission from 2004-2010

He is the Chairman of Asian Hockey Federation Medical Committee, a post he has held since 2002

He has been on the Medical and Doping Committee of South East Asian Games since 2007

He was the Vice President of Malaysian Hockey Federation from 2002 - 2010

He was the Medical Commissioner at the Commonwealth Games in 1998

He has been on the Olympic Council Malaysia Medical and Doping Committee since 1992.

Since 2007 he has been on the medical and doping committee of SEA Games (South East Asia).

He was Chief-De-Mission Malaysia Contingent at Australian Youth Olympic Games : 2007

He was Ist Secretary General of Malaysian Hockey Confederation from 2005 - 2007; Vice President from 2007 - 2010 and Council Member(Advisor to President) 2010 till now

He was the President of Malaysia Singapore Sikhs Sports Council from 1999-2005 and since 2005 he is the Patron

He has been appointed as FIH Medical Officer for Junior World Cup 2013 in Chandigarh. This posting is a real honour for Sikhs.
