Kuldip Singh Gosal was born in Punjab, India and studied at Sir Ellis Kadoorie A.M. School; Queen's College and Northcote College of Education in Hong Kong.
He was the Captain of College team (1962 to 1966) & Hong Kong team (1967 to 1969).
He also studied at McGill University, Montreal in Canada and was a Physical Education Teacher in Montreal.
In Hong Kong he played for Nav Bharat Club; Prison's Club and Recreio Club. In Canada he played for Ambassador's Club; Montreal United Club and Hull-Ottawa Club in Montreal, Canada.
He has 20 International caps for Hong Kong (1964 - 1969) and 25 caps for Canada (1975 - 1976)
He scored 7 International goals for Hong Kong and 5 for Canada
He played for Hong Kong at the1966 Bangkok Asian Games.
He played for Canada at the 1975 Montreal Pre-Olympic Tournament and the Mexico City Pan American Games. He also toured Australia/New Zealand with the Canadian team in 1975 and Europe in 1976.
In Canada he was Captain of Club (1970 to 1972) & Provincial Teams (1970, 1973, 1979, 1985) and Coach of Men's (1970, 1973) & Women's (1971, 1977) Provincial Teams.
Named provincial ‘Sportsman of the Year' in 1976 (in Canada).
Kuldip Singh and Harnam Singh Grewal were both selected for the 1967 Asian All-Stars Touring Team (although due to financial reasons, this tour never materialized).
He was a Physical Education Teacher for 35.5 years (till retirement) in the same school (Thorndale School, Montreal, Canada, 1972 to July 2008).
He is a two-time Olympian for two different countries (1964 for Hong Kong & 1976 for Canada)
In Hong Kong, he played under the name of Kuldip Singh, and in Canada,he played under the name of Kuldip Singh Gosal. He left Hong Kong for Canada on 2nd September 1969. He was known as the ‘Flying Sikh' in Hong Kong.
