Ajit Singh Bhogal was born in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. His parents emigrated to Uganda and he was educated at Mbale Secondary School in Uganda.
He played for Kampala Sikh Union & Mbale Sikh Union teams which he also captained and won his first international cap for Uganda at the age of 16 when he played against Rhodesia in Kampala in September 1959. He represented Uganda regularly at the Annual East African Championships.
He played at Munich 1972 Olympic Games and retired from international hockey after the Games.
He now lives in Toronto, Canada.
