Pritpal Singh Bhurji was born in Birmingham and studied at Hamstead Hall School from 1990 - 1997.
His father, Sarabjit Singh Bhurji emigrated to the UK from Uganda in 1966.
He played for Handworth Eagles from 1993 to 1996.
He was selected for England U16 team during the Home Nations tournament in Newport, Wales in 1995 and made his debut against Wales at Spytty Park, home of Newport Hockey Club in Wales. He scored a goal on his debut. He was also in England U16 squad that played in the European Cup.
He joined Barford Tigers Hockey Club in 1996 and played in the Premier League. Whilst at the Club he was selected for England U18 squad and made his debut against France in Santander, Spain in 1997. He was also in the squad for the Home Nations tournament.
He moved to Old Loughtonians Hockey Club in 1998 and played in the Premier League for the Club.
He earned his U21 international cap when he was selected to play against Australia at Bisham Abbey on 12 August 1999.
He played for Harbourne Hockey Club in Midlands Premier League from 2001 - 2002.
He was Bournville player/coach from 2019 - 2020 and is currently player / coach of Kingswinford Hockey Club.
