Tejparkash Singh Brar was born in Nairobi, Kenya. He studied at Duke of Gloucester School in Nairobi and went to the UK for further studies. He graduated as a Chartered Architect at College of Art in Birmingham, UK.
Whilst in the UK, he played for Pickwicks Hockey Club in Birmingham and Staffordshire County. On his return back to Nairobi, he played for Sikh Union Nairobi.
He earned his first international cap on 23 November 1956 when he was selected to play against Australia at the Melbourne 1956 Olympic Games.
He also represented Kenya at Tokyo 1964 Olympic Games.
His last international match for Kenya was at the East African Championship in Uganda in December 1965.
He started playing Golf in 1967 and won the Nayali Golf open in 1975 when his handicap was 5.
